Anything can give you courage!

Believe me when I say that anything can give you courage to be yourself and change the world! To me, it was a cartoon character who did it! Starting ten years ago... Because of that show, I believe that everything is possible, I just have to believe in me! What about you? Does anything inspire(d) you to do what's right and change the world?

What knowlege does!

I was hearing my mom talking on the phone with my cousin about my works about bullying at school and how they were the best on the whole school. And I heard things that made me remember everything that happened on the days I showed the students my works. Some of them changed! They saw how mean they were without even knowing it and they came to me saying they wouldn't hurt anyone anymore! The guys who used to bully me, some of them came to me apologizing even! Some cried when they saw how many teens and kids killed themselves because of being joked with no reason! My friends promised they wouldn't joke with anyone. We started a lot of anti-bullying projects by works, and showing them to other students. I just shared my story and said that if someone jokes to someone else for being fat, they have to remember that somebody else jokes with them for being too thin! I just told them that no one is guilty for being fat, for being born with a problem or for being ugly! Because if we see inside, those who are called ugly are the most beautiful people you can ever meet! It's not just because you wear some expensive jeans that make you someone big in life, but if you share love and helping hands it will make you even bigger than what you can ever imagine!

Funny thing (or not...) about bullying

This is the funny thing about bullying: if a girl on 6th grade uses a case of Barbie, she is joked, teared apart, called names... But if the bully, on 9th grade, does exactly the same, he is acclaimed as a hero, as the big guy, and it's impossible to know why!

Sunday, April 8, 2012

There is a boy here in Portugal who killed himself because of bullying. Everyday, he got punched and joked at his school. On March 22, he committed suicide drowning himself in the bath.
It's just unbelievable how it can get to this point! This young boy was suffering everyday just because of his music taste! He will be in my heart forever, just as all of the other bullycides! May God remember him and may He help his family and friends!
Martim, rest in peace! </3

10 best songs about bullying

Do you scream "Help me"? Do you hear cries for help? Is your wish helping? There is a way to fight against bullying, the way I use: MUSIC. Sing, play or write songs about it! That is the first step to the fight! But I believe you don't know any songs about bullying or related to it! According to you music taste, I will present here the 10 best songs about bullying that I have ever heard! There is a little description of each one for you to know if it's inside of your kind of music. According to it, choose a song and listen! But if you're like me, I'm sure you will enjoy them all!
  1. Hero by Superchick --> This is a rock song about bullying and it's my favourite. In it, you can see the point of view of a bullied girl, a bullied boy and the bully. There, the reasons of the acts are presented with the message that everybody can be a hero: you just have to choose!
  2. Don't Laugh At Me by Mark Wills --> Completely the opposite of the last song, this one has a country style. It shows everyone hurted speaking their feelings. There you will find a little boy and girl, a teenage mother, a kid who's always the last, and more, all of them hurted and joked by other just because of little problems in their lives that bullies make bigger: using glasses or braces, losing someone in the family... The message is nothing but the chorus: "Don't laugh at me, don't call me names, don't get your pleasure from my pain. In God's eyes we're all the same! Someday we'll all have perfect wings. Don't laugh at me!"
  3. When She Cries by Britt Nicole --> Here is a Pop song of one of my favourite singers. This song shows the life of a teenage girl who is bullied, but that nobody knows. She cries, she's desperate, she cuts herself, her life is nothing but an enormous sea of pain. She hides from the world and she feels that nobody is there for her. She never smiles, even on her birthday! But God is there for her and He will find a way to end that pain in her life, making the revenge that bullies deserve.
  4. Mean by Taylor Swift --> Another country song that shows the worldwide problem called bullying. There you can see how a victim feels, what they think about the bullies, but there is a message of hope in it because hurteds are encouraged to believe in a better day when their dreams will come true... Because those who have hurted them are nothing but mean and those hurts they made will end up healing!
  5. Miss Invisible by Marie Digby --> This is a very beautiful Pop song played with the piano showing how a girl feels about exclusion and how she tried to fit in. Her life at school is just sitting under the bleachers, eating alone and pretending she is busy as an excuse of being alone. And all the singer wants is those who joke to look at "miss always invisible" and realize what they are doing.
  6. Stole by Kelly Rowland --> In this R'n'B song, you can find some people whose lives were stole. A boy with unknown name, Mary, Greg, they were all victims whose lives were stole, one by one, and no one did anything to stop it. They all had great things: the boy was smart and always had good intentions, Mary could have been a movie star and Greg played basketball "as Kobe can", but those virtues were hid by the pain. Bullying literally stole their lives!
  7. You're Not Alone --> This is a very beautiful song with an unknown artist. If you want to hear it, click here. This is a bullied little girl saying what she feels, wondering if she should tell what she has been going through. She feels like a prisoner, with no freedom. But the message is that she is also hurted, not only you! As she says, "you're not alone, just like you, I'm hurted too".
  8. Who's Laughing Now by Jessie J --> This is Jessie J's best kind of Hip-Pop song. The song starts with the little girl telling her mother what she suffers at school. But then she becomes someone bigger, and suddenly, all the girls that hurted her in the past are running behind her, "proud" of her. But of course, the girl didn't let them use her again, because they deserved that revenge! She was hurted by them, now they are despised by her.
  9. Invisible by Skylar Grey --> This is a great Pop song about someone who tries everything to be noticed by others but even that way she is still invisible. She takes pills to be thin, she dyes her hair, she does everything, but she is still invisible. Only in her total loneliness she feels like a queen, she feels as it was real, but reality isn't that. The message on this song is that it's not worth it to try to be someone else because we end up invisible too. The best is to be ourselves and laugh at other's mean words!
  10. Hope For The Hopeless by A Fine Frenzy --> An amazing alternative song that shows that even when we are in our hardest moments, there is always hope. We can feel that the world is falling at our feet, but God will always provide a way to send rain away and bring a sunny day to your life! All you have to do is believe because "there's hope for the hopeless"!
Those are some of my favourite songs and if actually you know more songs that can be related to bullying don't hesitate on telling!
Keep on fighting! Use these songs to spread the word!

A step to help Philip - the boy I talked about in the Facebook page

Remember when I talked about that little boy who was being bullied by a girl? Two days ago, my friend Nicole remind about that boy. Suddenly, she said to me:
-Let's talk to that boy! We have to help him!
I thought it was a very nice idea. Yesteday we were supposed to talk to him, but we had no time. Today, we decided to find him. We have classes with his class in the same block (different rooms but they are devided by only a small room). I entered in that small room and saw his classmates, but I didin't see him. In PE classes we didin't see him neither! We were very sad because he wasn't at school today! But tomorrow we'll try again! We can't give up of helping people! They need our help! And we have to help 'em!
Nicole, thank you for making the first step to help him when I was afraid of the bullies!
God, thank You for making us helping others!
People, thank you all for joining this fight and supporting this blog and the stand against bullying!

DrugQuestion - Question 1: Why do people use drugs?

Why do people take drugs?
That's a question that many people make. Most of people don't know the answer to that question! But the answer is very simple: they need a escape or they want to fit in. But it all happens because of a problem. It can be any kind of problem that effects their minds. They need to change the way they feel and they think that drugs can solve their problems. Even knowing they are bad, if they are in a down moment, they fall. Drug sellers can use any kind of arguments to make money, so they can tell that it can solve your problems, that they will take you to another place where pain doesn't exist. But it's all a lie!
Those are the reasons why people, especially teens, start using and abusing drugs:
  • To fit in
  • To escape or relax
  • To relieve boredom
  • To seem grown up
  • To rebel
  • To experiment
They believe drugs are the solution but they become the real problem in their lives.
To more details about drugs in our lives, go check out the website Why do people take drugs? - Foundation for a Drug Free World.
May God bless you!

This fight changed my way of acting in the future!

I was waiting for PE classes to start, and a fight between a girl and a boy started. The girl is very strong, she has everyone by her side and she started hiting and punching the boy. The others held him so he couldn't defend himself. He was being a victim of bullying, you know? If I saw the sceene at time, but when I saw she was alredy running away. I would have stopped it in time. The boy was sitting, crying, in a corner with a girl who I believe that has ataxia (she is bullied sometimes too because of it). He wasn't fine, he had marks of the punches. I wanted to talk to him, but I wasn't brave enough to do it while my classmates were watching. Then I was the WEAK one! I was afraid of bullying too! I let myself down not helping that poor kid, but I won't give up! When we left PE classes to french classes, that boy's class was outside with their teacher. They were all laughig sitting in the benches, but that kid was sitting next to the teacher, on the bench he was, afraid of what others could do to him. He wasn't laughing as his "mates", actually he was almost crying. I stopped and stared when I walked by them, but I couldn't stay there seeing the sceene. But I swear that this kid will have my help! I won't let him have the same end as many victims had, or suffer was I alredy did!
May God bless you and bless that boy!

There's a boy in my school...

There is a boy in my school who is always alone. He doesn't speak to anyone, he's never smiling to others and he seems to be suffering. When I met him last year, he had one only friend, and now, she has left him to be friends with some other girls. In these days I have been realizing how his life is. I have tried to talk to him, but he doesn't let it happen. He is afraid, he lives with fear of lif...e. He just wants to hide because I know that nobody knows him. And I believe that this boy is or was a victim of bullying! And I think that because I lived that alredy. Everything he does is what I did when I was bullied. What's your opinion about this case?

May God bless you and may Him help me to help that boy! ♥

Amphetamines, other drugs or tobacco DON'T help!

Believe me when I say that they don't help!
I heard people say that with drugs or amphetamines or tobacco helped to focus on study or work. It DOESN'T! On the contrary, they destroy your body, physically and psychologically!
But if you think that you need help to be focused, talk to a Doctor or pharmaceutical and ask them for some vitamins or tonic to help you. But of course, it's not all! You have to eat well, to sleep enough and to work hard on school to achieve your goals!
If you have already started consuming amphetamines or other drugs, call a Help Line because they will tell you what to do. If tobacco is what is holding you back, then talk with a Doctor because they will tell you how you can get free of it!
NEVER fall in drugs story! It's all a lie!

May God bless you and help you to say "no"!

Bullying is always worse than what it seems

As the title says, bullying is always worse than what ir seems. Why? I think that one single song can explain it all. Hero by Superchick is the perfect song for bullied people and for those who want to pass the message of bullying. "It's not like you hate him or want him to die / But maybe he goes home and thinks suicide". Those words are real. They tell everything right? We joke with someone about the way they dress, but we don't know if they have money to have better clothes. We joke with people about being fat but we don't know if they have a sickness that the remedies they take makes tne being the way they are. We joke with someone about being blind but we don't know if they had an accident and never could see again. We DON'T know anything, so we can't judge. When we feel judge, our self-esteem falls apart and we just wanna hide. When it happens many times, we just want to DIE. Yes, people. It's the truth! Die is the thing people think that it's the answer!
But... what can be done to change? Why do people judge? How does it effect the victims? As I alredy said, one movie can answer all those questions and even more. To Save a Life is a movie for everybody: bullys, victims and people that have nothing to do wiht it. That movie talks about why people bully, why other people get bullyied and how to stop. Many people think just like Roger and Jonny. But the bad thing is that there is not many people like Jake or Andrea. Let's make a change! We can save a life! YES, WE CAN!
I will upload here the song Hero by Superchick and pictures from the movie To Save a Life.

ARE YOU A VICTIM OF BULLYING? ARE YOU BEING JOKED, PRESSURED OR UNDERESTIMATED BY SOMEONE? YOU CAN BE HELPED. DON'T GIVE UP BECAUSE LIFE CAN CHANGE! THINGS CAN CHANGE! I AM ABLE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AND TO HEAR YOUR PROBLEMS. JUST REMEMBER: YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS PAIN, YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS FIGHT!

Drugs DON'T help! Know the facts!

Are you wondering if drugs can solve your problems? Have you ever tried drugs and now are you wondering if you should take them again? Do you have people around you that want you to take drugs? DO they say that it WON'T hurt? DO they say that once WON'T leave you addicted? Well, thay are WRONG!
Drugs may sound good at the beggining, but after sometime, you want to leave them and you can't! Thousand of people die every year because of drugs, some other thousands have to go to rehab, many more start using drugs and years after they will be living what those thousand are living. According to 2008 data, 208 millions of people in the world consume illegal drugs.
Drugs consumers start with "Oh, it's just a little bit of cocaine! It will help you to stay awake all night!" or "Oh, c'mon! Smoking grass (marijuana) is the best! It's real life!". But they end like this: "I am sorry but your son has died. An overdose!" or "A 17-years-old girl was found dead on the floor of a disco. We suspect of drugs like cocaine."
You can start now making your future, or you can destroy it too! But if you think that the pressure is too much, talk with your parents, older sister or brother, to your teachers or go to the police. They will help you! Don't forget to be strong! Ask God to give you all te streight you need! He will! Becuse He does!
Now it's with you. Are you gonna say "They ARE wrong" or wait to say "They WERE wrong"?
